An All-American Mall Day

Mall shopping in Florida is pretty epic in terms of variety, choice and great deals. There are three malls close to the Pyramids. Bell Tower Shops offers upscale shopping, dining and a cinema. Edison Mall is the more casual younger adult hangout. Half-way between Fort Myers and Naples Coconut Point Mall has everything for the modern family including sleek fashions, a cinema, the Tommy Bahama Store & Restaurant, and a farmer’s market in the Panera Bakery parking-lot on Thursdays from October – April.

Brand Names at Low Prices

Miromar is more like a theme park and very attractive to families with children, located halfway between Naples and Fort Myers. The open-air shopping center features classic European architecture and courtyards, shaded walkways and benches, lovely gardens, water fountains, koi fish ponds and a children’s playground with rock climbing walls, picnic tables and weekly kids’ events.

When it rains, you’ll find us cruising the local antique and flea markets. Fleamasters Fleamarket is the largest indoor market in SW Florida with mobility scooters and live entertainment. The Curiosity Shop is the landmark store for vintage clothes, hats, jewelry, purses and something from every era. Santini Farmers Market is an outdoor boutique arts and crafts show with good food and nice strolling. Paris Market Antique Mall has an eclectic collection of vendors with everything from mid-century to period antiques.

Southern Fresh Farms is Fort Myer’s neighborhood farm and children’s playground with seasonal produce, flowers, local honey, homemade jams, fresh seafood, and grass-fed ground beef/bison/wild boar. Fort Myers Beach Farm & Art Market on Tuesdays has a wonderful selection of seafood, smoothies and fresh produce. On Wednesdays, Lakes Park is one of the area’s largest markets plus live music in a beautiful setting. River District Farmers Market features the oldest and only year-round Thursday market. The Boca Grande Farm & Fish Market is Friday’s choice for produce, pickles, smoothies, soaps, and seafood. The Sanibel Island Farmers Market on Sundays sells produce, meals and beach inspired gifts.
