Our favorite nearby beaches include Sanibel Island’s Tarpon Bay as a shell collector’s dream beach. The pristine beach at Lover’s Key State Park is ideal for bird watching and kayaking through the mangroves. Family-friendly Bonita Beach Park is an all-around favorite with picnic pavilions and easy parking. And don’t forget about Fort Myers beach with its great walking beach, open-air restaurants and calm waters.
